Concepts Tasks Security Profile Examples Contents Creating an Editable (Full) Profile: Administrator Example Creating a Read-only Profile: Data Collector Example This section provides two example profiles; one for editable and read-only default security levels. Each example describes how to implement the profile using the Security Setup mode, and also lists the overrides that are included in the profile when the example is complete. Editable (Full) Default Access: Administrator Profile This example details a security profile that may be used for an APM administrator. In this example, APM administrators are responsible for all enterprise and site settings, except for the asset hierarchy, site type settings, and the creation of new sites. The Administrator profile therefore provides full access to all objects and actions, with the following exceptions: • Read-only access to the site listing and hierarchy • Read-only access to the asset hierarchy settings • Read-only access to the site type settings To create this example profile, see Creating an Editable (Full) Profile: Administrator Example. Read-only Default Access: Data Collector Profile This example provides a security profile for employees who perform data collection (that is, collect indicator readings and enter them manually or using mobile devices). In this example, the data collector needs to be able to view and work with checksheets, enter indicator readings, and work with mobile computing activities. The Data collector profile has a default security level of Read-only, but also provides full access to the following: • Create and view mobile computers • Create and view mobile computing activities • Upload and download activities • Create new checksheets from standard tasks • Enter indicator readings on checksheets To create this example profile, see Creating a Read-only Profile: Data Collector Example.
