Design FMECA

A failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) “is a method in which an item or a process is broken down into elements and, for each element in turn, failure modes and effects are identified and analysed. This is to identify any required improvements by eliminating adverse effects or reducing their likelihood or severity. The purpose of adding a criticality analysis [FMECA] is to enable prioritization of the failure modes for potential treatment.” (BS EN IEC 60812:2018, Failure modes and effects analysis, p. 14).
You can use APM’s FMECA tools to perform analyses. For example, you can record the results of the team’s analysis directly into APM, using it to define functions, develop action plans, view decision diagrams, and document the team and the analysis. You can also track the review process by marking analyses as complete or closed. Information that results from the analysis can be presented in several ways.
