Concepts Tasks Settings Using the Schedule Worksheet When you open an availability schedule, APM displays the schedule worksheet. This is the main window you will use to work with the schedule. On the schedule worksheet you can: • Select work order tasks from your backlog to add to the schedule. (See Adding Tasks to an Availability Schedule.) • Select work orders from your backlog to add to the schedule. (See Adding a Work Order from the Work Backlog.) • Create more detailed entries by adding tasks to child schedules (such as adding entries on a Tuesday schedule from the weekly schedule). (See Adding Tasks to a Child Schedule.) • Add work order tasks to the schedule using the work order and task numbers. (See Adding a Task to a Schedule When You Know the Work Order Number.) • Schedule a task over several schedules (such as scheduling a 3-day task on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday schedules). (See Scheduling a Task over Multiple Schedules.) • Reschedule work (such as moving a task from Monday to Tuesday). (See Rescheduling a Task). • Monitor the availability of the schedule's trade and employee resources (this includes the hours that have been scheduled, the hours remaining, and the hours the resource is over-scheduled). (See Viewing Resource and Employee Availability on a Schedule.) • Adjust the resources that are being scheduled for an entry. For example, if you are only scheduling part of the task, you can reduce the time allocated for the entry. If the planned estimates seem low, you can increase the estimate or allocate additional resources to work on the task. (See Working with Employee and Resource Availability.) • Assign the employee or employees who will work on a scheduled task. (See Assigning Tasks to an Employee.) • Review the tasks assigned to a particular trade. For example, if the trade has remaining availability, you can view a list of tasks that require the trade and add them to the schedule. If the trade is over-scheduled, you can return one or more of the entries to the backlog or move them to another schedule. (See Viewing a Trade's Scheduled Tasks.) • Review the tasks assigned to an employee. For example, if the employee has remaining availability, you can view a list of tasks on the schedule that the employee can perform and assign them. If the employee is over-scheduled, you can re-assign the work to another employee, or un-assign the entries. (See Viewing an Employee's Scheduled Tasks.) • Return a scheduled task to the backlog. (See Removing a Task from an Availability Schedule.)
