Unplanned Work Order Policy

You can set a rule that determines whether or not users can perform activities on unplanned work orders. An unplanned work order is a work order with a status of New or In Planning. A work order is considered to be planned when either it has been approved (if approval is required) or the Mark as Planned option has been used.

Impact on Purchase Orders, Requisitions, and Resource Transactions

On a purchase order line, requisition, and resource transaction, you can select the work order and task to charge. If you select the “Do not allow activity” option, users cannot select unplanned work orders as the work order to charge. This means that you cannot charge purchase orders, requisitions, or transactions to unapproved work orders. The work order selector dialog (the dialog that is displayed when you click the Browse button) filters out any work orders that are not planned.

Impact on Schedules

If you select the “Do not allow activity” option, users cannot schedule tasks from an unplanned work order. This means that:
