Types of Table Configurations

There are four types of table configurations:
The type of configuration you can create depends the Privilege setting on your user ID. Most of the time, you will use the end-user privilege and create Personal configurations.
The configuration’s icon indicates the type, for example:
You can only edit and delete the type of configuration that you are allowed to create (based on your license key type). However, you can access all of the other types of configurations. You can also create your own versions of them by overriding or copying them.
The list of configurations that appears above a table contains the configurations you can view. If you use an end-user license key to make changes to an APM, Distributor, or Customer table configuration, APM creates a new Personal table configuration that overrides the configuration being modified. Only the Personal table configuration appears in your list unless you share it. For more information about sharing configurations, see Sharing a Table Configuration. You can revert back to the original table configuration at any time. If you try to delete an APM, Distributor, or Customer configuration, APM removes it from your list but does not delete it. You can add it back to the list at any time.
Note: If you create Distributor- or Customer-level configurations on a test database and then run a database transfer, the configurations are transferred like customizations, replacing any configurations in the receiving database. Personal configurations are not transferred or replaced.
For information about the administrator privilege, see Logging on as an Administrator.
