Linking Assets to Non-serialized Resources

When you are setting up your tools to support serialized inventory, you should first link the tool’s assets to the non-serialized tool resource. If you do this, then when you convert the tool resource to a serialized resource, the system will link your assets to new serialized units.

To Link Multiple Assets to a Non-serialized Resource

1.	From the site’s Resource Management view, select the appropriate resource, and then open it.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	Select the Assets view. By default, a summary list of assets by asset status appears.

4.	Select the Assets configuration. A list of all assets linked to this resource appears.

5.	Click Browse. The Asset Selector dialog appears.

6.	From the list, select the assets that you want to link to the resource, and then click OK.

Tip: You can filter or sort the list to quickly find the assets that you want to link. Right-click on a column and select one of the filter or sort options.

7.	The assets are now linked to the non-serialized resource. If you convert the resource to serialized, the assets can be linked to serialized units.

8.	Save your changes and close the resource.
