Securing Table Configurations

When you are in Security Setup mode, you can directly change the security settings of the table configurations contained on a tab or view. When you right-click a table and select a security level, you are setting the security for all of the attributes and relationships contained in all of the table configurations for that table.
The effect of selecting the Mark as Editable, Mark as Read-only, or Mark as Not Accessible option for a table will depend on the default security level for the class that owns the view. For more information, see Effects of Mark as Options for Views, Tabs, and Tables.
Note: When setting security on a view, tab, or table, security is set for all of the attributes and relationships visible in all of the configurations, including any administrator configurations that have been created.

Backing Up Your Work

When setting security on views, tabs, and tables, the system might create security overrides for many classes, attributes, and relationships at once. There is no ‘undo’ option for this feature. For this reason it is a good idea to save copies of your profiles as you work. For example, if you edit one area to react the way that you want in a profile, save a copy so that you can return to that stage if necessary.

To review the overrides that were added, navigate to the Enterprise window, Security view. Double-click the active profile to open the Security Profile window. You can open any class security by double-clicking it.
