Securing Classes

When you are in Security Setup mode, you can directly change the security settings for a class by right-clicking an object in that class. For example, to change security for the asset class, you would open an asset and right-click on the Asset window’s banner.
When you set security for a class, you are modifying the class’s default security level. This affects all of the actions, attributes, relationships, views, and tabs contained in the class. Any individual items in the class that already have overrides are not affected.
Note: Secured data may still be accessible in some reports. If this is the case, you will also need to secure the report. See Securing Reports.
In some cases, when you change the security setting for a class, you may be affecting access to more than one “object” in the system. For example, both KPIs and asset indicators belong to the indicator class.
