It is designed to help companies remain compliant with current local, national, and regional legislation, as well as industry best practices. APM provides these safety management objects: • Safety provisions describe the systems and processes that are put in place to prevent or mitigate a hazard. This includes: • Protective devices that prevent or mitigate safety hazards and the equipment that they protect. • Override definitions that identify the procedure and processes to follow when a safety device (for example, a tank’s shut-off valve) fails. • Override incidents are reported when a safety device fails. Each one includes an incident report and recommendations, planning information, log of the actions performed during the incident, follow-up work documents, and requested extensions. This section explains how to create and work with each type of safety management object.
