Linking an MSDS to a Resource

If your organization uses material safety data sheets (MSDS), you can link material or tool resources to MSDS standard procedures. The MSDS tab is available if the resource is part of a category that uses material safety data sheets.

To create a new MSDS, see Creating a Standard Document.

To Select an MSDS for a Resource

1.	Select the site’s Resource Management view.

2.	Open the resource for which you want to link to an MSDS. The Resource window appears.

3.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

4.	On the Properties view, select the General tab and then the MSDS tab.

5.	Click the browse icon in the Document box. The Standard Document Selector dialog appears.

6.	Select an MSDS in the list, and click OK.

Note: Selecting an MSDS might be mandatory, depending on the settings on the resource category. If a resource’s MSDS is expired, you might not be able to issue or purchase the resource, depending on the procedure type settings for the MSDS.

7.	When you are finished, save and close the Resource window.
