Setting up Repair Cycle Automation
This topic explains how to set the repair cycle settings on an existing serialized resource. To create a task template for repair work orders, please see Creating a Task Template for the Automatic Creation of Repair Work Orders.To Set Repair Cycle Automation on a Resource
1. From the Site window, select the Resource Management view.
3. On the Properties view, select the Repair Process tab. This tab is only available if serialized unit support has been activated for the resource.
• A repair order is not automatically generated: Users must manually create repair work orders to complete the repair cycle.
• External repairs - a work order is created automatically when a unit is issued: Select this option if the resource will be repaired by an outside supplier and you want the system to automatically create the repair work order. You must select the task template for the system to use when creating the work order.
• Internal repairs - a work order is created automatically when a unit is issued: Select this option if the resource will be repaired by your in-house repair shop, and you want the system to automatically create the repair work order. You must select the task template for the system to use when creating the work order.
6. When you are finished completing the repair options, Close the Resource window.
