Receiving Off-site Repairs for Inspection

When you receive a vendor-repaired serialized resource unit, you receive it with Repair On Site status. This allows for inspection of the repaired unit before it is returned to inventory.

After the part has passed inspection, create a Return to Inventory Transaction and the status can be changed to Spare. The repaired unit is then available for issue.

To Return a Off-Site-Repaired Unit for Inspection

1.	Create a purchase receipt.

2.	Enter the purchase order and line number you want to receive.

3.	Select the status for the repaired unit. To allow for inspection of the vendor-repaired unit, select Repair On Site. For example:

4.	Click OK to save your changes and close the Purchase Receipt dialog. APM posts the new transaction and makes the appropriate inventory adjustments in the warehouse.

5.	After the part has passed inspection, create a Return to Inventory Transaction. The unit’s status can be changed on the transaction to Spare. For more information on returning a repaired unit to inventory, see Returning Serialized Inventory Units to Inventory.
