Returning Repaired Serialized Units for Inspection

If you want to allow inspection of a repaired unit before it is returned to inventory and is available for issue or installation, change the unit status to Returned when you create the Return Part to Inventory transaction.
The asset status might already have been updated to Returned when activity was reported for the repair work order task, or when the work order task was closed.
After the part has passed inspection, you can create another Return Part to Inventory transaction and change the status to Spare, so that the repaired unit is available for issue.

To Return a Repaired Unit for Inspection

In the Site window, select the Resource Management view and then the Inventory tab.

On the Warehouses tab, select the warehouse in which the resource is stocked. The list of stocked resources is shown in the table on the right.

Select the Units tab. This tab shows a list of all of the units of this serialized resource.

Right-click the unit and select Return to Inventory. The Material Return to Inventory dialog appears. For example:

Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog. APM posts the new transaction and makes the appropriate inventory adjustments in the warehouse.
