Releasing a Work Order for Approval

This section explains how to release a work order that is being held from approval because one or more resources are in the RFQ process.
If you have sent a work order for approval, and one or more of the planned items requires a request for quotation (RFQ), the work order is not sent to the approvers until the RFQ process is complete. If the process of obtaining and analyzing bids is taking too long, you can release the work order for approval before the process is complete. The approval is based on the estimated cost of the resources.

To Release a Work Order for Approval

1.
From the Site window, select the Work Management view and then the Work Orders tab.
2.
Select the Tasks tab. Double-click a work order task from a work order that you want to release for approval. The Work Order Task window appears.
3.
Select the Planning tab.
4.
Note: This option only appears if an RFQ has been created for the item and the work order has been sent for approval.
5.
Click Yes in the confirmation dialog that appears. If all requirements are met, the system releases the work order and sends the work order to the first approver on the approval route.
