Defining the WBS Codes for a Project

You must define the WBS codes that are valid for this project’s work order tasks. A project can reference its own set of WBS codes or use those from a higher level project. The WBS codes are used to help identify the location of work order tasks within the project hierarchy. For more information on WBS, see Work Breakdown Structure.

Note: This information is visible if the project type allows project WBS. If this tab is hidden, you can enable it if you have the required security profile. For more information, see Setting up Project Types.

To Define WBS Codes

1.	Select the project’s Properties view, WBS tab.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	If WBS codes are required on all work orders for the project, select the first option.

4.	By default, projects are set to inherit the WBS codes from a higher level project in the project hierarchy. If you wish to define the WBS codes separately from higher level projects, select This project’s tasks use the WBS codes selected below. The table displays the WBS codes

5.	Select the WBS codes that will be valid for the project work orders.

6.	Save the project.
