Charging Work Costs to a Component’s Location

When you are selecting an asset to charge for a work order, you may want to charge the work to the component’s location. If the component has recently moved, you may want to charge the work to a different location from the one in which the component is currently installed.

To Charge Work to a Component’s Location

1.	Open the work order task.

2.	Select the Charging Info tab. This tab shows the currently selected asset to charge for the task.

3.	If the component is currently selected and you want to charge the component’s location, select the Location option.

4.	To charge to a location that the component used to be installed in, click Previous Location. The Asset Selector dialog appears showing a list of component locations.

5.	To view more details about the installation history for a component or location, double-click the entry in the table. The Asset Installation History dialog appears. When you are finished reviewing the details, click Close.

6.	Select the component location that you want to charge, and then click OK. APM enters the component location asset into the Asset to charge box on the task.

7.	Save and close the work order.
