Concepts Tasks Example Multi-site Setup This scenario provides three example profiles for planners: one for their home site, one for other sites, and one for the top site in the site hierarchy. In this scenario, a planner needs to be able to create standard tasks and jobs for their home site. They do not need to edit or view any objects from any other sites, except for the top site. Since the top site owns task and job templates that are used across all sites, a planner needs access to these items in the top site. Planner - Home Site Planner - Top Site Planner - Other Sites Default security level Enabled Read-only Hidden Overrides Access disabled for Enterprise and other unused functions Access enabled for task and job templates, and related items In this scenario, there are two ways that you can set up security for the user: • Use the Planner - Home Site profile as the default security profile, set the top site to the Planner - Top Site profile, and set the rest of the sites to use the Planner - Other Sites profile. This method requires you to create enter a security profile for each site in your enterprise. • Use the Planner - Other Sites profile as the default security profile, and set the user’s home site to Planner - Home Site, and the top site to Planner - Top Site.
