Setting up Override Methods

Override methods are referenced in override definitions in safety provision versions. Examples of override methods are Manual Override, Programmable Logic Controller, and Distributed Control System.

This topic explains how to set up override method values.

To Set up an Override Method

1.	On the site’s Safety Management view, select the Settings tab, and the Safety Management Settings node in the tree.

Tip: You can also select the site’s Administration menu and then Safety Management. The Safety Management Settings dialog appears.

2.	Select the Methods tab. This tab shows the methods defined for the site.

3.	Click New. The Override Method Properties window appears.

4.	Provide a descriptive name for the override method.

5.	To represent the method with a different icon in tables, click Change Icon, select another image, and click OK.

6.	Enter a description.

7.	Click OK. The override method is added to the Methods tab.
