Setting up Override Approaches

Override approach values identify the strategies for preventing or mitigating the hazard, for example, “Equipment protection”. This topic explains how to set up approach values.

To Set up an Override Approach

1.	On the site’s Safety Management view, select the Settings tab, and the Safety Management Settings node in the tree.

Tip: You can also select the site’s Administration menu and then Safety Management. The Safety Management Settings dialog appears.

2.	Select the Override Approaches tab. This tab shows the values defined for the site.

3.	Click New. The override approach Properties window appears.

4.	Provide a name for the override approach.

5.	To represent the approach with a different icon in tables, click Change Icon, select another image, and click OK.

6.	Enter a description.

7.	Click OK. The method is added to the Override Approaches tab.
