Setting Acknowledgment Defaults for New Alarm States

You can specify the default values on new alarm states in regard to creating failures and downtime incidents when an alarm is acknowledged.

To Set Acknowledgment Defaults for New Alarm States

1.	From the Site window, select the Inspection Management view, the Settings tab, and then the Indicators tab. Select the Indicator Settings node in the tree.

Tip: You can also click the Administration menu, Inspection Management Settings, and then Indicator Management. The Indicator Settings window appears.

2.	Select the Defaults tab.

3.	Click Edit to modify the site settings. The Edit button is replaced by the Save button.

4.	In the Indicator state defaults area, select the appropriate options:

Create a failure record when an alarm is acknowledged

Select this option to have a failure record created automatically when a user acknowledges an alarm with a request for work (when AWEIS is active), work request, work order, or the “fixed during inspection” flag.

Create a downtime incident with the failure

If failure records are created when users acknowledge alarms, you can select this option to have a downtime incident created at the same time.

5.	Click Save.
