Setting up Asset Operating Conditions

You can select asset operating conditions on standard tasks and on work order tasks to tell the people planning, scheduling, and performing the task what condition the asset must be in for the work to be started. For example, you might have an asset operating condition called “Shutdown.”

APM comes with some operating conditions already defined. You can edit these conditions or enter new ones. This topic explains how to create new operating conditions.

To Set up Asset Operating Conditions

1.	From the Site window, select the Assets view, Settings tab. Select the Assets tab and the Asset management settings node in the tree.

Tip: You can also select the Administration menu, Asset Management Settings, and then Asset Management. The Asset Management Settings dialog appears.

2.	Select the Operating Conditions tab. This tab shows a list of the current asset operating conditions.

3.	Click New. The Asset Operating Conditions dialog appears.

4.	Type the name for the asset operating condition in the Operating condition box.

5.	Enter a short form for the operating condition in the Abbreviation box. The abbreviation is used in reports.

6.	To select a different icon, click Change Icon, select a graphic, and click OK.

7.	Click OK to close the dialog.
