Setting up Events: Rules for Assigning Project Statuses

You can set up workflow controls that automatically change the project status when a system activity occurs. For example, when the project is created, the status could be set to “New project” automatically.

To Set up Rules for Assigning Project Statuses

1.	From the Site window, select the Work Management view and the Settings tab. Select the Projects tab and the Project management settings node in the tree.

Tip: You can also work with project settings in the Strategy Development, Reliability Program, or Performance Management views. Select the Settings tab and then the Projects tab.

2.	Select the Events tab.

3.	Click Edit to modify the site settings. The Edit button is replaced by the Save button.

4.	For each event listed, select the appropriate project status:

Setting Name

Description

Creation

Status automatically applied to the project when it is created.

Sent for approval

Status automatically applied to the project when it is sent for approval.

Approved

Status automatically applied when the project is approved.

Redrafted

Status automatically applied to the project when it is redrafted.

Rejected

Status automatically applied to the project if an approver rejects it.

All planned work is closed

Status automatically applied to the project when its work orders and work requests are closed.

Strategy development analysis created

Status automatically applied to the project when the request for analysis has been processed and the analysis created. This event applies to projects created to track requests for strategy development or reliability strategy selection analyses.

5.	Click Save.
