Setting up Load Types

A load type is an aspect of the operating environment in which the damage mechanism is prone to occur. Examples are static stress, cyclic stress, and impact.

To Set up Load Types

1.	On the site’s Strategy Development view, select the Settings tab. Select the Damage Mechanisms tab and the Damage mechanisms settings node in the tree.

Tip: You can also select the site’s Administration menu, Strategy Development Settings, and then Damage Mechanism Library. The Damage Mechanisms Management Settings dialog appears.

2.	Select the Load Types tab.

3.	For each of the load types required by your organization, click New. The Damage Mechanism Load Type Properties dialog appears.

4.	Provide a descriptive name for the load type, for example, static stress.

5.	Enter a description of the type of loading.

6.	Click OK. The dialog closes and the load type is added to the table.
