Setting up Asset Restoration Plan Types

An ARP type is a collection of preferred settings for asset restoration planning. Selecting a type on an ARP quickly ensures that its settings are correct and consistent with your organization’s requirements. The settings include:

The level of financial periods used when defining a spending plan. The options are:
•
Month – spending is planned by the month
•
Quarter – spending is planned at the quarter level
•
Year – spending is planned by year
•
The number of financial periods used. This option identifies the number of periods for which spending plans are developed in your organization. The maximum number is 12.
•
Default plan status and plan asset status. These properties identify the initial statuses that will be assigned to an ARP when it is created and to each asset added to the ARP.
The settings also include the appropriate site, whether expense details are supported, a description, and formatting choices such as font, text color, and background color.

To Set up an ARP Type

1.
On the site’s Asset Health view, select the Settings tab, the Restoration Plans tab, and the Restoration plans settings node in the tree.
Tip: You can also select the site’s Administration menu, Asset Health Settings, and then Restoration Plans. The Asset Restoration Plans Settings dialog appears.

Select the Plan Types tab. This tab lists the plan types at your enterprise.

Click New. The Restoration Plan Type dialog appears:

Provide the following information:
Setting Name
Description
Type
Name or short description that identifies the asset restoration plan type.
Site
Site where this plan type is used.
Expense details are supported on plans of this type
When this option is selected, you can break down spending plan amounts by expense type for each category and financial period.
Plan status
Status assigned to the plan when the plan type is assigned to it.
Asset status
Status assigned to plan assets when they are added to ARPs of this type.
Financial period type
The level of financial periods used when defining a spending plan. The options are:

Month – spending is planned by the month
•
Quarter – spending is planned at the quarter level
•
Year – spending is planned by year
Number of periods
The number of financial periods for which spending plans are developed in your organization.
5.
Select the Description tab to provide more information.
6.
Select the Formatting tab if you wish to distinguish the type from others when it appears in tables and charts.
7.
Select the font, text color, and background color for this type.
8.
When you have finished defining the type, click OK. The type is added to the Plan Types tab.
