MTA2 is most effective when operational and maintenance knowledge about assets is well-documented and consistently used by employees. MTA2 provides an alternative to the resource-intensive RCM2 analysis, while still allowing you to identify the right work to improve performance across the plant. MTA2 methodology and tools allow the analysis team to: • Identify the assets to be analyzed • Identify the causes of asset failure • Recommend actions to prevent or mitigate failures You can use APM’s MTA2 tools to perform analyses. For example, you can record the results of the analysis team’s analysis directly into APM, using it to define asset functions, develop action plans, and document the team and the analysis. You can also track the review process by marking analyses as complete or closed. Information that results from the analysis can be presented in several ways.
