Adding Corrective Tasks to MTA2 Action Plans

When an action plan’s recommended action is condition-based maintenance, failure-finding maintenance, or scheduled restoration or discard, you can include the following:

•	Corrective tasks – You can do one or more of the following, depending on whether APM is configured to interact with AWEIS, SAP Plant Maintenance, or neither:

•	No integration – Create or browse for one or more APM standard tasks, task templates, standard jobs, job tasks, or job templates to correct problems

•	AWEIS – Browse for standard tasks or solution packages

•	SAP Plant Maintenance – Browse for items (for example, equipment task lists) to correct problems if APM has been set up to access external data

•

Corrective action plan tasks – Request that the reliability program be updated. The action plan task can reference an existing APM, AWEIS, or SAP object. Or you can choose to reference a task in an external CMMS (select “Other”). You can select update options and enter notes to let the planner know whether an object needs to be created, modified, or deleted.

To Add a Corrective Task (APM)

1.	Open the Maintenance Action Plan window and select the Implementation view.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	On the Primary Action Plan tab, select the Tasks tab.

4.	To add an existing standard task, job task, or standard job:

•	Select an option from the Browse list:

•	A selector dialog appears.

•	Find and select the standard task, standard task template, job, or job task.

•	Click OK. The item is added to the action plan.

5.	To add a new standard task, job, or template:

•	Select an option from the New list:

Note: If you are developing an action plan for an analysis template, your options are to create a task or job template.

•	The appropriate “Create” dialog appears. For example, the Create Standard Task dialog. Select the options for the object and click OK.

•	The appropriate window appears, where you can define the task, job, or template.

•	Save the object and close the window. The task, job, or template is added to the action plan.

To Add a Corrective Task (AWEIS)

1.	Open the Maintenance Action Plan window and select the Implementation view.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	On the Primary Action Plan tab, select the Tasks tab.

4.	Select an option from the Browse list:

A browse dialog appears.

5.	Find and select the standard task or solution package and cycle.

6.	Click OK. The item is added to the action plan.

To Add a Corrective Task (SAP)

1.	Open the Maintenance Action Plan window and select the Implementation view.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	On the Primary Action Plan tab, select the Tasks tab.

4.	To add a reference to a SAP Plant Maintenance object, select an option from the Browse list.

5.	The appropriate browse dialog appears.

6.	Select filtering options and click to display the list of objects.

7.	Select the object.

8.	Click OK. The reference is added to the action plan.

To Add a Corrective Action Plan Task

1.	Open the Maintenance Action Plan window and select the Implementation view.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	On the Primary Action Plan tab, select the Tasks tab.

4.	For APM objects, click the New list and then New Corrective Task. For AWEIS or SAP objects, click New. The Action Plan Task dialog appears. Here is an example for APM objects:

5.	In the Type list, select an object or “Other”.

6.	If you selected an object type, click the browse icon to select the item to reference.

For AWEIS, you can select “Solution package” in the Type list. The dialog displays the solution package levels and options specified in the site interoperability profile. In this example, Maintenance plan, Maintenance item, and Operation are the three levels. Levels 2 and 3 are subordinate to the level above, so a maintenance plan must be selected before a maintenance item.

7.	Enter a reference to the CMMS task, if applicable.

8.	Click Reliability program update required. Select the update type: create, modify, or delete a reliability program object. Provide instructions in the text box.

9.	Click OK. The task is added to the Tasks tab.
