Linking a Task Template to an SAP General Task List

When APM has been configured to interact with SAP Plant Maintenance, you can link standard task templates to general task lists. The extraction process creates a standard task using the template for the APM asset linked to the maintenance order’s functional location or equipment. (If the maintenance order references both a functional location and equipment, APM uses the asset linked to the functional location.) A standard task is created only if a suitable standard task does not already exist for the asset.
This topic explains how to add an SAP reference to an existing task template.

To Link a Task Template to an SAP General Task List

1.
In the Site window, select the Reliability Program view, the Program tab, and the Task Templates tab. Locate the task template and double-click it to open the Standard Task window.
2.
3.
Select the Properties view, General tab, and then the SAP tab. For example:
4.
In the Type of object list, select “Task list”.
5.
6.
Select the task list and click OK. The task list’s information is displayed in the SAP tab.
7.
The option Create a checksheet, if required, when a maintenance order is created in SAP is selected by default. A checksheet is generated from the standard task when a maintenance order is created in SAP that is based on the linked task list. You can clear this option to disable the functionality for the standard task.
Tip: In the Standard Task window, select the SAP Properties view to see detailed information about the linked task list.
