Overview of Application Modules

An application module, such as Implementation and Performance Management (IPM), is a subset of an APM product that can be enabled (or disabled) on particular sites. For example, an organization might enable the IPM module on all sites but enable the Reliability Strategy Development module on just one site. The site window displays only the views and functionality for its enabled modules.
The products and their application modules are:

Foundation

Remote Computing — Use APM Remote to access and gather asset information from disconnected work sites.
Implementation and Performance Management is a prerequisite for this module.

Strategy Development

Reliability Strategy Development — Perform any of the following analyses:
This module includes basic assets and asset hierarchies.
Note: To use Isograph Availability Workbench® for analyzing failure modes, the Reliability Strategy Development and Implementation and Performance Management modules must be enabled for the site. You must also have Isograph Availability Workbench installed and have a valid license for it.
This module includes the ability to view and reference data in another system, such as SAP® Plant Maintenance, using an APM external data provider plugin. The appropriate connector product (for example, APM SAP Connector) is required for the CMMS interoperability feature.

Asset Health Monitoring

This module includes asset condition analysis and restoration plans.

Online Data Collection

Online Data Collection — Collect indicator readings from online data sources. Implementation and Performance Management is a prerequisite for this module.

Enterprise Asset Management

Enterprise Asset Management — Use cost tracking, scheduling, inventory, procurement, and invoicing features. Note that, if indicators or failure tracking is required, Implementation and Performance Management must be enabled.

SAP, Maximo, or Oracle eAM Connector

Work Management Integration — Use the integration plugin for SAP® Plant Maintenance, IBM® Maximo®, or Oracle® eAM, as well as the Integration Manager. Implementation and Performance Management is a prerequisite for this module.
Note: The CMMS Integration functionality does not work with sites where the EAM module is enabled.
Note: A connector is also required for CMMS interoperability. For example, the AssetWise APM SAP Connector is a prerequisite for the APM external data provider for SAP Plant Maintenance.
You can view purchased APM products and their activation statuses in the Enterprise Properties window on the Products tab. For example:
