APM Windows

When you have logged on successfully, an APM window appears. If your user ID has been linked to an employee record, a site window opens, showing the site where your employee record was defined. If your user ID is not linked to an employee record, the Enterprise window appears. The following example shows an Enterprise window with multiple sites.

Tip: When you start APM Help from the Enterprise window, you will see the version of the Help that is appropriate to the top site. If the EAM application module is enabled for the top site, the Help contains information about resource management, procurement, inventory, and repairable spares, for example.

Double-click a site in the list to open it. Here’s an example of a Site window that displays the basic elements of an APM window:

The Tools menu usually contains actions that are specific to the object. For example, the Tools menu for a work order includes the option to review upcoming preventive maintenance work.
Click a view to work with a subset of the object’s data. For example, in a Site window, the Inspection Management view displays information about alarms, indicators, readings, and checksheets.
Click a tab to display related information or information organized in a different way. For example, in the Assets view, you can work with assets displayed in the physical hierarchy or listed by asset number.
Click the list on the Configuration button to work with the current configuration.
Note: Wherever the date and time are displayed in APM clients, they are shown in the time zone assigned to the site, regardless of the time zone used on your computer.
Tip: To view the enterprise time zone, open the Enterprise window (click in the tool bar). In the Enterprise menu, click Properties. The Enterprise Properties dialog, General tab displays the area for the time zone.
