Viewing Indicator Collection Compliance

An indicator’s collection window defines early and late collection periods. You can track collection compliance using table configurations, sidebar dashboards, KPIs, as well as on Indicator and Indicator Reading windows.
Note: We recommend setting up the scheduled action Update Indicator Collection Window Status to run at scheduled intervals. This ensures that compliance data is up to date.

KPIs, Table Configurations, and Sidebar Dashboards

Several key performance indicator (KPI) templates are available to monitor collection compliance, including:

Indicator collection compliance: # of readings taken early
•
Indicator collection compliance: # of readings taken late
•
Indicator collection compliance: # of readings taken on time
•
Indicator collection compliance: # of readings taken without compliance tracking
•
Indicator collection compliance: # of indicators overdue
•
Indicator collection compliance: % of readings taken early
•
Indicator collection compliance: % of readings taken late
There are also several other ways to monitor collection compliance for indicator readings.
On the Site window, Inspection Management view, Indicators tab, By Asset Hierarchy tab, you can choose from these table configurations to review the collection status of indicators:
•
Indicators due to be collected – Lists indicators with the collection status “Due”, their reading due dates, early and late collection dates, and other collection information
•
Collection is overdue – Lists indicators with the collection status “Late”, their reading due dates, early and late collection dates, and other collection information
•
Indicators due to be collected in the next 30 days – The time period is based on the site’s compliance horizon
•
Collection policies – Lists indicators with collection windows, their collection statuses, next reading due dates, early and late collection dates, as well as information about their settings
Tip: These configurations are also available on the Asset window’s Inspection Management view, Indicators tab. Select either the Listing or By Asset tab.
On the site’s Inspection Management view, Indicators tab, you can also select the Collection Policies History tab to view audit information about indicators with collection windows.
On the site’s Inspection Management view, Readings tab, By Indicator tab, you can select an indicator in the top table to view detailed information about its readings, current status, next reading, and collection status in the Readings tab below. For example:
Note: When an indicator with a collection window is marked “Inactive”, its collection status is set to “Collection is inactive” (or “Not applicable”) and the collection window is suspended until the indicator is reactivated.
A site sidebar provides a summary of collection activity. The “Indicator collection status and reading compliance” sidebar is available on the APM standard sidebars definition. Assign this definition to your employee record to see the Indicator Collection Status and Reading compliance charts on the site’s Inspection Management view, Readings tab. For example:
Audit information about collection information is available in the Indicator window’s History view and the site’s Inspection Management view, Indicators tab.

To View an Indicator’s Collection Status

Open the Indicator window and select the Readings view.
Tip: In the Indicator window’s Readings view, Readings tab, the “Readings history” configuration is selected by default. This table shows the readings’ Collection Compliance statuses (Collected on time, early, or late).

Select the Collection Status tab. For example:

Collection status
The indicator’s collection window status can be one of:
•
Not applicable – A collection window has not been defined for the indicator
•
Early – The early collection date is in the future
•
Coming due – The early collection date is in the future but the current date is within the site’s compliance horizon (30 days by default)
•
Due – The early collection date is in the past and the late collection date is in the future
•
Late – The late collection date is in the past
Early collection date
Date and time that ends the early collection period. A reading taken at or before this time has the collection status “Early”. A reading taken after this point is considered “On time”.
Collection due
Date and time at which the indicator reading is to be taken.
Late collection date
Date and time that starts the late collection period. A reading taken after the due date and before this time has the compliance status “On time”. A reading taken at or after this point is considered “Late”.
Next reading date source
The date for the next indicator reading can come from the following sources:

Expected frequency
•
Indicator degradation next inspection
•
Manual override
•
Regulatory inspection
•
Failure mode analysis
•
Acknowledgment follow up
Reading is planned for
Date and time at which the indicator reading is planned to be taken.
3.
When you are finished, close the Indicator window.

To View a Processed Indicator Reading’s Collection Compliance

1.
Open the Indicator Reading window. For example, open the Indicator window, select the Readings view, and double-click a reading.

Select the Compliance tab. For example:
Note: This tab is available for processed readings only.
Possible values for collection compliance are:
•
Collected on time
•
Collected late
•
Collected early
•
Compliance not tracked
Tip: Percentage non-compliant provides a general idea of how late or early the reading is. The calculation uses the expected time between readings, based on the date of the previous reading and the date of the current reading.
3.
When you are finished, close the Indicator Reading window.
