Viewing Calculation Times

You can monitor the performance of calculated indicators by reviewing calculation times on readings. After identifying an indicator that performs poorly, you can open the indicator to tune its calculation.

APM also reports on the time it takes to gather input values and arrays for calculation. You can view summaries of these values at the site level.

This topic explains how to view calculation times for individual indicators and all calculated indicators on the site.

To View an Indicator’s Calculation Times

Open the Indicator window, select the Readings view and the Calculation Times tab. The “Calculation time” table displays the indicator’s readings and the time it took APM to calculate each reading value in milliseconds. For example:

To View the Site’s Indicator Calculation Times

On the Site window, select the Analytics view and the Calculated Indicators tab. The configuration list provides these ways to view the information:

•	“Calculation time” lists readings by calculation time in milliseconds, from highest to lowest values

•	“Calculation summary per indicator” lists indicators with grouped rows of readings that you can expand. Each indicator’s summary includes the average calculation time and the number of readings

•	“Calculation time by indicator” lists calculation times in descending order, indicators, assets, collected on dates, and collected values

•	“Inputs calculation time” lists readings by the time it took to gather inputs in milliseconds

•	“Inputs calculation time by indicator” lists input collection times in descending order
