Viewing Indicator Usage

There are several places where indicators can be used within APM. Indicators can be:

•	Included in failure modes in strategy development analyses

•	Included on standard tasks and work order tasks

•	Cascaded to an indicator on another asset (cumulative indicators only)

•	Included in a calculation for another indicator (numeric indicators only)

•	Included in a triggering rule for a standard job or for another indicator

•	Included in comparative analyses

•	Included in failure mode review requests

•	Included in mass update requests

•	Used to monitor operating parameters and failure barriers

•	Included in safety provisions

This topic explains how to view where indicators are used. It also explains how to view lists of indicators that are not included in action plans. This information is useful when you wish to review and remove redundant indicators.

To View Where an Indicator is Used

1.	Open the indicator. The Indicator window appears.

2.	Select the Usage view. For example:

3.	Select each tab to see where the indicator is used and which other assets are based on the same indicator template.

To View Indicators Not Associated with Maintenance Action Plans

1.	On the Site or Asset window, select the Inspection Management view, Indicators tab, and Listing tab.

2.	In the configuration list, you can select:

•	Indicators without a corrective task or job. This configuration lists indicators (with states) that are not associated with a corrective standard task or job on a maintenance action plan. Each indicator’s asset, collection status, and indicator type are shown.

Indicators not associated with a maintenance action plan. This configuration also shows the asset, collection status, and indicator type. In the configuration list, select “Indicators not associated with a maintenance action plan”. This configuration also shows the asset, collection status, and indicator type.
