Recalculating Calculated and Performance Indicators for a Site

You can use one of four methods to set when a calculated or performance indicator is recalculated:

•	Triggered manually. If you select this option, the calculation is never triggered automatically but only when requested by a user through the indicator’s Tools menu or the Recalculate Now button.

Note: The Recalculate Calculated Indicators action cannot recalculate indicators with this setting.

•

Triggered at a regular interval that you set on the indicator (for example, every hour, every Monday at 10 a.m., and so on). Once you define an interval on the indicator, the system checks to see if the indicator needs to be recalculated each time the Recalculate Calculated Indicators action is run. If the Next Calculation date and time are passed, the system recalculates the indicator. You can run this action from the site’s Tools menu, or your system administrator can schedule this method to run on a regular basis.

•	Triggered automatically whenever a new reading is entered for an indicator reading-based input in the calculation.

•	Triggered automatically whenever a new reading is entered for a specific input that is based on an indicator reading. If the calculated indicator has several inputs, you can prevent recalculation from occurring every time that one of the inputs has new data.

To Recalculate All Indicators for a Site

1.	In the site’s Tools menu, click Indicators and then Recalculate Performance Indicators.

2.	A confirmation message appears. Click Yes.

The system reviews all calculated and performance indicators set to be calculated on a scheduled interval and determines which of them needs to be recalculated based on the defined schedule. The system then recalculates the required indicators.

Note: This process could take some time to complete, depending on how many calculated and performance indicators are defined on your site.
