Manually Recalculating a Performance Indicator

Most calculated indicators are automatically calculated whenever a reading is entered for one or more of the indicators used in the calculation. Most performance indicators are automatically calculated on a pre-defined regular interval when the Recalculate Calculated Indicators event occurs. For more information, see Defining an Indicator’s Calculation Frequency.
Alternately, you can have the system recalculate the value for an individual calculated asset indicator or performance indicator.
Note: When a calculated or performance indicator is set to be triggered at a regular interval, only one reading can exist for a particular period. For example, if the indicator is to be recalculated once a month, there should only be one reading for each month (for example, one for February and one for March). If a reading already exists for the same period, the system warns you before creating a new reading. If you continue and create a new reading for that time period, the previous reading is flagged as being incorrect.

To Manually Recalculate an Indicator

1.
2.
From the Tools menu, select Calculate. The system attempts to calculate a value for the indicator.
Note: If the calculation uses inputs from two or more indicator readings, the system checks the proximity rule for the indicator before performing the calculation. If any of the readings fall outside of the proximity rule, the system does not perform the calculation.
3.
To view the resulting indicator reading or value, select the Readings view. Select the Current Status tab to see the most recent reading and status for the indicator.
Note: If you receive a message that the indicator could not be calculated, there could be a problem with the calculation or the data with which you are working. For more information, see Troubleshooting a Calculated Indicator.
