Marking Mobile Devices as Inactive or Active

If you have mobile devices that are no longer in use or are temporarily out of service, you can mark them as inactive in APM. This prevents users from assigning activities to the device. Inactive computers are also skipped when activities are downloaded.
This topic explains how to mark a mobile device as inactive or active in APM.

To Mark a Mobile Device as Inactive

1.
Select the site’s Mobile Computing view.
2.
Select the Mobile Devices tab. This tab lists all of the mobile devices currently registered at the site.

Right-click the device and click Mark as Inactive. The Mark as Inactive/Active dialog appears.
4.
Enter a reason for changing the status of the device and click OK. A message appears indicating that the device is now inactive. Click OK.

To Re-activate a Mobile Device

1.
Select the site’s Mobile Computing view.
2.
Select the Mobile Devices tab. This tab lists all of the mobile computers currently registered at the site.
3.
Right-click the inactive device and select Mark as Active. The Mark as Inactive/Active dialog appears.
4.
Enter a reason for changing the status of the device and click OK. A message appears indicating that the device is now active. Click OK.
