Steps Involved in Implementing APM This section provides an overview of the steps to set up the APM software and use APM to implement your asset reliability process. The following diagram provides an overview of the implementation process: Initialization Initialization involves setting up the APM software and database, defining initial settings, converting your existing data if required, and configuring the environment. Implementation Once the Initialization phase is complete, the APM environment is ready to use for implementing your reliability program in the first area. Typically, you will choose one system or set of assets in which to perform the first reliability program implementation. You will then repeat this cycle in other areas of your organization. Administration In the Administration phase, your APM administrator will make any required updates to the enterprise and site settings, site and asset hierarchy (for example, asset transfers), employee and user lists, and security profiles. For information on administration tasks, see Administration Guide.
