Adding UOM Categories

You can add a new unit of measure (UOM) category for the enterprise in Application settings. You will need to do this if you want to add a unit of measure that does not fall into an existing category.
When you create a category, you will assign it a base unit of measure. APM uses the category’s base UOM when filtering and sorting data in tables. If data in a table uses different UOMs in the same category, APM converts the data to the base UOM (in the background) to determine the correct filtering or sorting sequence. However, the data in the table is displayed in its original units of measure.
Note: A new UOM category is not available for use until you exit APM and restart it. For APM Remote, the synchronization and remote server instances must be restarted before new UOMs and categories are available.
To add a UOM to an existing category, see Adding Units of Measure.
