Setting up Late Charge Rules

To limit late transactions, you can specify the number of days after a financial period closes that charges are allowed to be posted. APM issues a warning after that length of time.
You can activate rules that issue a warning in response to transactions posted after a work order has closed. These rules apply to purchasing transactions (invoice lines, purchase receipts, and invoice adjustments), labor charges (time cards), and warehouse (stores) issues for work orders. You can enter the length of time after the work order has closed that warning messages are issued for late transactions. Note that these rules do not prevent transactions from being posted.

To Set up Late Charges

1.
From the Site window, select the Administration menu and then Accounting Settings. The Accounting Settings dialog appears.
2.
Select the General tab and then the Late Charges tab.
3.
Individual transactions can still be posted to closed periods using the Post to Closed Period action on the transaction.
4.
Note: Specify the durations in days if you plan to export work order tasks to an external system. This ensures that the “purchasing charges allowed until” and “stores charges allowed until” values are calculated correctly.
5.
When you are finished, click OK to close the Accounting Settings dialog.
