Manually Recalculating Failure Statistics and PF Intervals

Changing a failure record’s dates, resolving a failure, or canceling a failure record results in failure statistics being recalculated. Failure statistics are usually calculated automatically using a scheduled action. Another scheduled action is often set up to calculate remaining PF intervals on open failure records. However, you can also calculate statistics and remaining PF intervals manually.
When you recalculate failure statistics manually, APM updates all open failures and failures that have been resolved since the last time the statistics were updated. When you update PF intervals, APM recalculates the time remaining for all open failure records whose PF intervals are defined but not locked.
This topic explains how to manually recalculate statistics and PF intervals. For information about setting up scheduled actions, see Scheduling Actions.

To Manually Calculate Failure Statistics

1.
From the site, select the Tools menu, Failures, and then Calculate Failure Statistics. A confirmation dialog asks you if you want to continue.
2.
Click Yes. Depending on the number of failure records to be updated, this process might take a few minutes to complete.
Tip: You can also select one or more failure records and recalculate statistics. For example, in the Site window, select the Performance Management view, Failures and Downtime tab, and Failures tab. Select one or more failures in the table, right-click, click Calculate, and then Failure Statistics.

To Manually Calculate PF Intervals

1.
From the site, select the Tools menu, Failures, and then Calculate Remaining PF Interval. A confirmation dialog asks you if you want to continue.
2.
Click Yes. Depending on the number of failure records to be updated, this process might take a few minutes to complete.
