Completing Component Swapping Information
When you plan the removal and installation of repairable spares, you need to issue the new serialized unit before you can install it in its new location. For more information on issuing serialized units, see Issuing Serialized Units.To Complete a Component Swap
1. On the Component Activity dialog, select either Remove a component, Install a component, or Remove and install a component in the Type of component activity area.
2. If you selected Remove a component or Remove and Install a component, select the Removal tab and enter the following information:
3. If you selected Install a component or Remove and install a component, select the Installation tab and complete the following information:
APM tracks asset indicator readings and costs for each life. For example, you might want to track indicator readings collected after a rebuild separately from before the rebuild.If this option is selected, the Change manufacture info option is available.
4. If you selected Change manufacturer info on the Installation tab, the Manufacturer tab appears. On this tab, you can enter the appropriate information:
• Define here - the user is required to enter the manufacturer, model, and details.
• Defined on manufacturer model - the details of the manufacturer and model are extracted from the manufacturer and model information already defined in APM.
5. If you selected Defined here, complete the following additional manufacturer information:
6. To have the component swap processed when the activity report is processed, select the Activity Status tab. Select This activity has been completed, and complete the Occurred on and Completed by boxes.
7. To install or remove the component now, click Swap Now. The Swap Component dialog appears. Enter the date and time of the swap and click OK.
8. Click OK to close the Component Activity dialog.
