Defining View as Form Appearance Properties

You can display table configuration data in form view. When defining how a form appears and behaves you can select a pre-defined form. You can also determine navigation button options and behavior.

This topic describes how to define the appearance of a table configuration when viewed as a form.

To Define View as Form Appearance Properties

1.	View the table configuration that you want to format.

2.	Click Configuration and then Open. The Configuration dialog appears, open to the Columns tab.

3.	Select the Appearance tab. For example:

4.	In the View As area, select the appropriate options:

Default style

The format in which data is displayed when the system displays the table. If more than one display format is enabled, the user can switch views using the View As icons. View as table: View as form: View as chart: View as map:

Show search bar

Select this option to turn on the quick search bar for this table configuration, or clear the option to turn it off. By default, the quick search bar is turned on, but you might want to disable it in some situations. For example, on small lists you might want to hide it to save space.

Pivot table

When this option is selected, the table is pivoted based on the first and second columns. When you pivot a table, you create a grid in which the first column defines the rows and the second column defines the columns. Note: When a table is charted, the pivoted column overrides what is defined as the X-axis column on the chart’s data properties.

5.	In the View as group, select Form. The form tab appears.

Note: The Display New button options are only available if you logged on as an administrator.

6.	Select the Form tab and enter the form settings:

Select the predefined form style from the list.

Auto checkout form

If this option is selected, the form is automatically unlocked for editing.

Show current position in list

When this option is selected, the object’s position (for example, 1 of 5) is displayed between the navigation buttons at the bottom of the form.

Display New button

When this option is selected, a New button appears at the bottom of the form. You must also supply the method source and the method to use.

Method source

Select object on which to model the method. The options are: • Current object - for example, in a configuration showing work orders, the current object would be site • Master object - for example, in a configuration showing failure modes, the master object might be strategy development analyses • Selected object - the object type that is displayed in the table

Display First and Last buttons

Select this option to display first and last navigational buttons.

Method to use

Select the appropriate method from those available for the method source.

Position

Select the position of the navigation buttons. Your options are Bottom, Left, Right, and Top.

End-of-list behavior

Select this option to determine what happens when the user reaches the end of the list. The options are: disable the Next button, display the first item in the list, execute a method, or display as a list.

End-of-list method

Select the method that executes when the user has reached the end of the list.

Message

Select the warning message that displays when a user reaches the end of the list.

7.	Click OK to save the formatting options.
