Concepts Tasks Settings Setting Up Scheduling for Purging Rules To have purging rules execute automatically according to the recurrence patterns defined in the rules, you must set up one or more scheduled actions. Scheduled actions are methods that can be set up to run automatically with repeatable frequency. Each scheduled action defines: • The method to run • The time the method runs • How often the method is run You can schedule actions to run at hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly time periods and specify the interval within that time period. For example, you could create a scheduled action that runs purging rules on the last day of each month at 23:00:00. The Execute Purging Rules method scans the selected site for all activated purging rules that are set up to execute automatically and determines which rules need to be executed based on their recurrence patterns. The method then executes purging rules that need to be run. You should schedule the Execute Purging Rules method to run at least as frequently as your most frequently executed purging rule. For example, if you want one of the purging rules to be executed once a week, schedule the method to run at least once a week. For more information, see Creating a Scheduled Action.
