Activating and Suspending Purging Rules

Purging rules cannot be executed until they are activated. This restriction helps to ensure that the purging rule is not executed inadvertently before it has been properly defined and tested.
A purging rule must have at least one selection criterion before it can be activated. Once activated, the rule cannot be edited. If you wish to modify the rule, change its activation status to “Suspended”.
Tip: You can view a record of the actions performed on the purging rule on the History tab. For more information, see Viewing a Purging Rule’s History and Audit Files.
