Concepts Tasks Settings Glossary of Construction Management Terms The following terms are used throughout the construction management topics. For a full glossary of APM terms, seeGlossary. Term Definition Asset Change Request Change requests specify updates to be performed on assets in the external CMMS (for example, SAP) that manages assets and work. AssetWise Enterprise Interoperability (AWEIS) conveys requests to the CMMS and returns information to APM. The asset update is performed in the CMMS and then information such as a new equipment number is communicated back to APM, where the interop asset is updated. Asset Program Profile You can use asset program profiles to generate reliability and inspection programs for one or more assets at the same time. The profile specifies asset types and filters for selecting the specific assets to update, as well as the indicators, standard tasks, jobs, solution packages, and documents to assign to assets. If you are using the construction form feature, the profile also generates a checksheet for each of the assets’ standard tasks. Construction Form A construction form identifies the originating work order, the installation location, and all of the equipment to be installed for a construction project. The form can include asset information such as manufacturer, serial number, and specifications. Construction Form Asset Group Asset groups simplify data entry requirements by allowing attributes that have a common value for a group of assets to be entered only once. Information that is specific to each asset in the group is entered at the detail level Support for asset groups is set on the construction form template asset type. Construction Form Status Status can trigger events such as validation. Status can be changed automatically in response to an event or manually using the Change Status function. Construction Form Template Asset Type The asset types defined in a construction form template identify the UI panels to display and special processing requirements when the user adds an asset to a construction form. Serial Number Search Profile Serial number search profiles format user-entered values to conform with different rules for serial numbers. The profile specifies the case of the text, whether embedded spaces or characters are removed, or the maximum number of characters. When you search for an asset from a construction form, APM formats the serial number that you enter so that it matches the profile before performing the search.
