Generating Inspection Activities for Construction Forms

After you have created and updated assets for a construction form, you can use the Generate Installation Activities process to create the installation and inspection activities for the form’s assets.
The generate process can be performed just once for the construction form, which must have a validation status of “Validated.” The Update Assets process must have completed successfully.
The generate process uses the form’s assets and their asset programs to determine the objects to create or add to the assets. Objects can consist of one or more indicators, standard tasks, standard documents, and standard jobs or solution package tasks.
For more information, see Setting up Asset Program Profiles.
You can start the process manually by clicking the Tools menu and then Generate Installation Activities. Alternatively, the process can start automatically when the construction form status changes. For example, in some implementations, when the status changes to “Assets Updated”, APM automatically generates the activities.
When the Generate Installation Activities process completes, the construction form status might change automatically, for example, from “Assets updated” to “Activities created”. The process step might also be updated, depending on your organization’s requirements.
This topic explains how to use the Generate Installation Activities process.
