Canceling and Deleting Projects

You might need to cancel or delete a project or sub-project from time to time. There are more than one way to accomplish this.

Canceled Project Status

If your site has the project status “Canceled” which can be set manually, there might be events tied to that status that will automatically cancel all open work remaining for the project.
To view instructions on how to set up a Canceled status, see Setting up Project Statuses.

Redraft and delete or cancel sub-projects

If your site requires project approvals, you can redraft the project (see Redrafting Projects) and delete it, its sub-projects, or both. You could change the status to “Canceled” rather than deleting.
You will retain a record of the original project. This is particularly useful when you are canceling or deleting sub-projects. For information about the “Canceled Project” status, see Setting up Project Statuses.

Delete Permanently

If you do not want to keep a record of the project or if your site does not require project approvals, you can right-click the project and click Delete.
The project and its sub-projects will be completely deleted and will not store any data in history regarding the project(s).
