Setting Mobile Computing Options on a Standard Task

If a standard task’s indicator readings are to be collected using APM Remote or the APM Mobile Inspections app, you can have APM create a checksheet activity at the same time that the work order is created from the standard task. You can specify the mobile computer, employee, and shift responsible for collecting the indicator readings. When a specific mobile computer is assigned to the task, the computer name is added to the checksheet’s information.
In a mobile device’s properties in APM, you can specify when automatic checksheet activities are downloaded. For more information, see Working with Mobile Computers in APM.
You can set bar code scanning options on standard tasks and task templates. The setting is copied to checksheets created from the standard tasks. When the checksheets are downloaded to APM Mobile Inspections, bar code scanning can be performed.
Note: Bar code scanning based on standard tasks is available for technology preview. You must first enable feature 128 to use the functionality in APM. In the Enterprise window, select the Features view and the Enabled Features tab. Click Browse, select “Enforce indicator bar code scanning based on the standard task” and click OK. If APM is running as a smart client, click Refresh Enabled Features on the server. Then restart the client to use the functionality.
Once you add an indicator to the standard task, the Mobile Computing tab becomes available in the Inspection tab of the Standard Task window.
