Setting up a Dynamic Inspection Route on a Standard Task

A dynamic inspection route is defined on a standard task and comprises a list of assets (ordered in walk-around sequence) and a set of criteria for including the assets’ indicators. When a list of indicators to read is generated using the standard task, indicators with properties that match the criteria are included.

To Access the Dynamic Route on a Standard Task

1.	Open the Standard Task window.

2.	Make sure that editing is enabled.

3.	On the Properties view, select the Inspection tab and then the Dynamic tab.

Note: The Inspection tab does not appear unless the standard task’s work type allows indicator information. The Dynamic tab does not appear unless the work type supports dynamic indicators.

To Set up Indicator Selection Criteria

1.	Select one or more inclusion criteria from the list of properties.

•	If a value has been specified on the standard task, it is displayed next to the property. For example, “Operating condition is Running Normally”.

•	If a value has not been specified on the standard task, “An inclusion criterion is required” is displayed. You can add a value to the standard task on another tab, or you can specify that indicators that do not have a value for the property are included, as explained in the next step.

2.	You can specify that indicators with a blank reference to a property are included. Click next to the property to open the selector dialog. Then click the option that allows the indicator’s property to be blank. For example:

Click OK.

Note: If an inclusion criterion is not defined, no indicators are collected.

3.	You can specify as many as three additional values for each inclusion criteria. Indicators with any of the values are included in the task’s list of indicators. Click to open the selector dialog:

Select the additional technologies and click OK.

To Add Route Assets

1.	In the Route assets and dynamic indicators area, click New to add a route asset. The Route Asset dialog appears:

2.	Click the browse icon. The Asset Selector dialog appears, where you can select an asset and click OK. The asset information is displayed in the Route Asset dialog.

3.	The sequence number is assigned automatically according to the order in which you add the route assets. Change the number as required.

4.	By default, the asset and its children in the physical hierarchy are included. To restrict the route asset to the selected asset, select Asset only from the list.

5.	To restrict the indicators to a collection group, select Include indicators in collection group and select the group from the list.

6.	To add collection groups or specify that the collection group can be blank, click . The Indicator Collection Group Selector List dialog appears. For example:

Additional collection groups for indicator matching

You can add up to three more collection groups for indicator matching. Indicators with any of the groups are included in the list. When you add the second group, the box below it becomes available, and so on until you have added three groups.

If this option is selected, indicators that are not assigned to collection groups can be selected for the dynamic route.

7.	You can view the indicators associated with the route asset. The Dynamic Indicators tab lists the asset’s indicators that match the selection criteria. The Static Indicators tab lists any of the asset’s indicators that have been manually added to the task. For example:

8.	To limit triggering using asset statuses, select the Options tab.

•	Click Indicators are only triggered when the asset has the following statuses. Asset statuses are listed.

•	Select the asset statuses that will allow the indicator to be triggered.

9.	When you have finished, click OK in the Route Asset dialog. The asset is added to the Route assets table.

10.	Repeat steps 1 to 9 to add all of the assets to the route.

11.	To change the sequence of route assets, select an asset in the list and click Move Up or Move Down. The asset’s sequence number changes according to its position in the list.

To Preview Indicators on the Route

To view a list of all the indicators to read for the route, click Preview Indicators. The Indicators Preview dialog appears, showing the indicators that match the selection criteria in the order that they should be read. For example:

Scroll to see the Source column that identifies each indicator as dynamic or static. They are also distinguished by color.
