Transferring Assets

You can transfer assets from one site to another using the asset transfer document that you have already created.

An asset transfer document, like other documents in APM, has a life cycle. When you create it, you can send it for approval. When the document has been approved, you can transfer the assets. When you perform the transfer, ownership of the assets changes from your site to the in-transit site. When the assets arrive at the receiving site, the receiver marks them as received, changing ownership from the in-transit site to the receiving site.

Although you can create an asset transfer document at any time, assets should not be transferred in APM until the assets have been physically shipped from your site.

To Transfer Assets

1.	On the Site window, select the Assets view, Utilities tab and then the Transfers From tab.

2.	Right-click the document that describes the assets that you want to transfer, and select Transfer Assets. The Transfer Asset dialog appears.

3.	Select the name of the employee who transferred the assets, as well as the date and time of the transfer.

4.	If you have not yet verified the assets, click Verify Assets. APM verifies if the assets can be transferred. If there are issues with the transfer, a warning message appears. If there are no issues, APM displays a message saying that the assets can be transferred.

5.	Click Transfer Now. APM asks you to confirm that you want to transfer the assets now. To transfer the assets now, click Yes. To cancel, click No.

6.	When the transfer has been processed, APM displays a message stating that the assets have been transferred to the receiving site. Click OK.
