Concepts Tasks Settings Asset Health Report Definitions Using APM, you can create asset health report definitions for asset health monitoring. Asset health report definitions save calculation, extraction, and generation specifics so that you can regenerate reports whenever necessary. Asset Health Report Definitions Asset health report definitions include the necessary information with which to generate readings for asset health reports. These definitions include asset health calculations performed against a list of assets referred to as asset health assets. To simplify the setup and ongoing maintenance of the asset health assets, the report definition can select assets based on a selection criteria rather than hard-coded lists. Asset health report definitions identify a set of calculations used to determine the health of individual assets. Each definition can contain up to five calculations which allows up to five asset health indexes to be calculated per asset at a time. Report definitions can define recurrence patterns to determine the frequency at which both the asset list and the readings are refreshed or regenerated. Both can be manually refreshed at any time. APM administrators can schedule actions for refreshing asset health asset lists and asset health readings. In APM, an asset health report definition uses calculations to determine the health of assets, creating a numerical value referred to as an asset health index. Asset Health Assets Asset health assets are assets that are used in an asset health report definition. Asset health assets can originate from any site in your organization, which provides you with the flexibility to group assets for asset health purposes in any way you feel is appropriate. To simplify the setup and ongoing maintenance of asset health assets lists, the report definition can choose assets based on a selection criteria rather than a manually maintained list. When defined manually, you are responsible for identifying and maintaining the list of assets. On a manual list, assets can individually be set to “inactive”, temporarily excluding them from any calculation in the report definition. Conversely, as new assets are created or others are removed on a filtered list, the asset health assets list for a report definition are automatically updated. Asset health asset lists can be refreshed manually or via a scheduled recurrence pattern. Asset health assets’ active status is used to control inactive or remove assets from the asset health report definition. When a filter is being used to maintain the asset list, assets that were previously included in the list that no longer match the selection criteria are marked as inactive. These assets are not physically deleted allowing you to review assets that have been removed from the report definition perhaps as a result of a problem with filter or the asset's properties. Inactive assets can be deleted from the report definition if they are no longer needed on the report definition. Removing an asset health asset from a report does not delete the actual asset itself. An audit history is kept of the additions and changes for each asset health asset, including changes to the active status. Asset Health Indexes Asset health indexes are created from the results of asset health calculations defined on asset health report definitions. They are numerical scores assigned to an asset or a group of assets. Asset health indexes can be compared to previous values, to identify trends or highlight assets that require monitoring. An asset health index value generally has a range between 0 and 100, in which the higher the index rating, the better the health of the asset. When an asset health report readings are generated, asset health calculations determine the asset health indexes at the time of the reading, and the results are displayed on asset health reports.
